Ligres
Ligres is a seaside settlement, 51 km. South of Rethymno and under the village of Agia Paraskevi, at the foot of the imposing mountain Siderotta. Ligres is a long beach with dense sand and fantastic deep waters. Relatively difficult access, makes it one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches on the island. The beach is not very organized but it is ideal for those seeking isolation and relaxation in its blue waters but there is also a tavern with rooms on the west side of the beach. Right at the end of the beach to the west, there is an impressive waterfall that sheds water directly on the beach and has water all year round. It is worth walking along the beach in Triopetra and admiring the wonderful geological formations and the waterfalls of the area in Xermilia. On the way, one can observe the huge red rock, the Ligers' landmark.
