LOCATION
Timbaki
Timpaki is a small town located 65km south of Heraklion in the Messara plain. It is located very close to the beach of Kokkinos Pirgos, but also to the palaces of Phaistos and Agia Triada. Its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture, while the area is full of olive groves and greenhouses. In fact, greenhouse crops are so numerous that many of the early produce is exported daily. The city does not have special beauties to show, as most of the buildings are newer. It is worth to see the church of the village, Agios Titos and to drink coffee in the various cafes of the square or raki in the small kafeneion. In addition, Timpaki is considered a town and so there are shops with clothes, taverns, cafes, pharmacies, and large supermarkets. Εvery Friday there is a market with vendors of clothes, vegetables and dairy products selling their ware on a main street of the town. Kokkinos Pirgos beach is a large sandy beach with shallow waters suitable for families.
