Kalochorafitis
Kalochorafitis is a small traditional settlement in the valley of Messara on the south coast of Crete. The village was originally inhabited in 1399 and it still maintains the traditional characteristics of the unique Cretan architecture. It has an altitude of 280 m and it's situated 65 km from Heraklion city. The habitans are mainly into agricultural works, however the last years the village is a popular holiday destination for the foreigners, as it is located a few kilometers away from the coast and the beautiful beaches of the island. In the village there is a small traditional Caffeneio while the small city of Timbaki with the supermarkets and the amenities available is only 10min drive away. The village offers magnificent views to the Libyan sea with Paximadia islands on the horizon.
