Lendas
Lendas is a picturesque seaside settlement, located 74 kilometers south of Heraklion, south of the Vigla peak of the imposing Asterousia mountains with many wind turbines. The name of Lentas may be derived from the Greek word Léton (in English, "lion"). It refers to the cape formed by the lion that creates the small protected bay of Lentas. Access is via an asphalt road passing through the villages of Mimos and Krotos, on a route that offers stunning views of the South Cretan Sea and the banks of Lendas. It is the busiest beach in the area and well organized, as basic services such as umbrellas, showers, sun loungers and water sports are offered.
